Despite porn stars and Playboy models, white evangelicals aren’t rejecting Trump. This is why.

I think that they might have missed something utterly basic in their attempt to dignify this continued support by way of ideology, though.  That he cheated on his hot young wife bareback with pornstars and playmates doesn't make the man repulsive to them, in truth..it makes them want to be him.  It adds to the myth of his celebrity, and it's that myth that's always been compelling to them - even if other myths are equally compelling.  Like the myth that this is a fundamentally christian nation, or the myth that the trumpster ever could (or even -would-) make it so.

They've been back pedaling on adultery since the divorce liberalization movement of the 60s and 70s, despite there being a rather specific commandment on the topic, and of course Jesus's extremely pointed reminder of how He views the issue.

Clearly, His followers think they know better and want to take the lead on adding adultery to the list of sacraments approved in their faith now.

Best if Jesus falls in line on this, or they will continue to march off without Him.

LOL, just like Vietnam where to save a village it had to be destroyed, Trump will destroy Christian morals and credibility all the while pretending to protect and preserve them.

Scripture is clear, believers can NOT follow 2 masters, and that is precisely the trap they willingly walked into.

Adultery is a SACRAMENT now.

Sucks to be Jesus, leading from behind on an issue He clearly felt strongly about and now universally ignored by His followers who think they know better.

Christianity has always been absolutely COMPLETELY about using fraud, guilt and intimidation to get others to do the bidding of the church as the church seeks to aggrandize itself.   It is NEVER, NEVER, even to the slightest degree, about binding itself in any way by any of rules it thrilly seeks to impose upon others in the furtherance of its own interest.

For what it's worth, I think it absolutely is hypocrisy. 

I don't have a problem with those who begrudgingly voted for Trump because they saw him as the lesser of 2 evils. I may not agree with their decision, but it doesn't effect their character to me. 

But I find myself very frustrated with those who value Christian principles but then actually claim Trump somehow represents Christian principles. From what it seems, Trump represents nothing but himself, and is for nothing but himself. There is nothing more anti Christian than that.
