We Didn't Need A Study To Tell Us This
https://www.rawstory.com/2018/03/republi...g-science/

Quote:Republican voters are becoming increasingly less educated — according to science

Quote:There are several key attributes that define the Republican Party in its modern incarnation: its overwhelming whiteness; its self-reported religiosity; its slavish devotion to a man who boasts he could shoot supporters and not lose a single vote, thus proving his point. Moving forward, that list should probably also include as a distinguishing factor the fact that the party is less educated than its Democrat political rivals, and growing increasingly more so.

-they forgot it's oldness.  Millennials overwhelmingly reject the entire republican party....and they're about to be the largest bloc of voters the us has ever seen.  T-three years or less, Tick Tock to 2020, 2022, and 2024.

The party of lincoln isn't long for this world, and they only have themselves to blame for it.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Provided the Supreme Court rules against partisan gerrymandering, and it seems likely that Kennedy will.

The thing about partisan gerrymandering is that it might allow a minority to retain control of a majority for a time, but it doesn't change the demographics and becomes..at a point, unsustainable-over-time.  The gerrymandered districts eventually become filled with political opposition and the overton window adjusts accordingly.

The republicunts don't think long-term, Khem.  They can't look beyond the next election cycle or too many of them will have died.

They're making inroads into the unions. Union member votes and money are loosening up in response to diverging interests from the Democrats.

Probably should have been a national discussion about it prior instead of Dem party poohbahs just deciding for everyone.

Maybe it's not too late to fix it ?

The biggest single problem facing the workers of this country is that unions have lost their clout.  The corporate pricks own everything including the government.  There is no one left to defend the rights of the workers.

Part of me would love to see them finally examine themselves, and hopefully reform, and maybe move it back to the days when being a Republican was still at the very least morally defensible (which could mean anything from the days when Republicans were at least aware that openly flouting their racism was something they shouldn't do to the days of Teddy Roosevelt).

The rest of me knows the powers that be have no interest in bringing them closer to center.

Perhaps there might be a split, where the radicalized members and the less horrible ones form their own parties, probably leading to a long period of Democratic dominance like the last time the Republican Party split.

Yup, the party of STUPID - and proud of it. Republicans are fucking idiots.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
