We already let a lot slide. If we turn a blind eye to chemical weapons attacks, weapons banned with almost earth wide approval, are we not somehow complicit? Especially if we have the means to do something and stand idly by?

I’m not an interventionist but the screams of children dying following chemical (and conventional) weapons attacks is haunting.

The airstrikes on Syrian targets are going to do a tremendous amount of good.  Think of all the lives that will be spared in the 3-4 days it will take the Russians to re-stock Syria's chemical weapons facilities.

Despite france’s fall from global to a strictly regional power, and the fact that French rule is hardly remembered with fondness in much of her former colonies, France never gave up the pretention that she continue to have special interests privileges in areas over which she had once been the colonial master.
