I was thinking this morning after my poo that a designer could not have been too intelligent to have created corn and then made the human body absolutely incapable of properly digesting it.

Pick out the kernels and get a bomb calorimeter and test them.
You'll be surprised at how efficiently your GI tract absorbed the corn starches and sugars. The kernel casings are necessary fibre so that's a ++ too.
