If some being created this whole environment, there's no evidence that they care about us at all, or would even have known we'd eventually spawn. This kind of "humans are special and everything revolves around us" thinking is a remnant of when we knew fuck all about what was going on. It amazes me it still persists. I suppose it has some sort of evolutionary function for people who can't cope with reality on its own terms.

One of course has to wonder how created beings can harden themselves against a god who can do anything, he could at least make his presence clear and do so without interfering with our choice to choose. ( I would say free will but that likely does not exist either)

Well no we won't, and neither of course will the theist. Thing is we will never be able to gloat about it, just as they wont.
I really wish theists would grow up and stop this childish nonsense.
He has shown Himself through the creation, through our conscious, and through His word.

If I was going to create a religion, that is precisely what I would include to make people dismiss other religions. Careful and critical analysis of fiction writing has come a long way in disproving religious belief and religious writings as truth.
