I think that the faithful have trouble separating their beliefs of how things are with truth statements about how things must be. To them, simply accepting that no design is necessary is tantamount to heresy.

Perhaps more so than with most real people, and perhaps even with some Christians, disagreeing with you would be a good place to embark upon a journey of getting closer to the truth.

Hawking calculated infinite curvature at the start of the Big Bang. Infinite curvature means no time, no matter. Everything literally came from nothing. It's amazing.

Because you can't say the universe is too amazing to not be designed out of one side of your mouth and say Allah is so amazing that it's ridiculous to say he must be designed out of the other side, without contradicting yourself.
You are right on that account, but universe is made out of temporal events, and many parts and continuous change and there is finite tuning that works to make things like stars and planets, and if it was just off by a bit, and so on and so forth, but most importantly, the universe is not necessarily so, meaning, it's a possible it be one way and it possible it be another and so we lucking out is now explained by billions or even infinite universes existing in parallel with no proof they exist, and it doesn't solve the issue at all. There is no reason to assume if there is infinite universes, they would all have different properties so another way to say this, is the properties in all universes may or may not have the fine tuning... but the question is then, why so lucky?
And if it is made out of temporal events, then it's chain A state -> B state, and no matter how much data can be compatible with infinite time (universe expanding and contracting forever and ever from the past), it's mathematically and logically impossible.
In fact, something like a dollar bill, cannot create the world. IT cannot maintain life and the universe.
And laws themselves have to have implementer, and the movement from A->B to me is obviously due to a mover. Something is moving the universe, keeping all the laws in place, and brought out the design.
The eternal One however is Eternal, absolute, and One. There is no divisions in him, he is the source. He could not have been like this or that, there is only way to be the Absolute Eternal.
Is the same true of Allah (SwT)?

It is so. The universe doesn't have a mind of it's own to create. The universe and everything in it was created.
