DNA Proves Existence of a Designer

(November 29, 2018 at 11:53 pm)Everena Wrote: And continents don't talk, just like big rocks don't create universes. Do I have to teach you everything? God is not a man, so get over it. Even the Christians websites explain that the male  pronoun was just used because this an actual being we are talking about, not an it.
(November 30, 2018 at 12:16 am)Paleophyte Wrote: We call it allegory. Went over your head apparently. Suffice it to say that God can simply command land to exist.
No God cannot. God is an actual intelligent conscious being, not some supernatural made up thing. God does things like any conscious being would do them, using formulas, and materials to create things.
(November 29, 2018 at 11:53 pm)Everena Wrote: The planet was created in the way planets are created. Since you can't create one, I don't think you should judging God's way of doing it.
(November 30, 2018 at 12:16 am)Paleophyte Wrote: I don't need to make something to see the problems in the way it works. Volcanoes kill people needlessly, and you can't escape that malevolence.
Nothing is ever done needlessly. All things that happen, happen for a specific reason. Just because we may not be privy to that reason, does not mean there isn't one.
(November 29, 2018 at 11:53 pm)Everena Wrote: Don't burn anyone to death or choose that as your way to die if you really think so.
(November 30, 2018 at 12:16 am)Paleophyte Wrote: Don't tell me. I don't make volcanoes! Yet.
I'm talking about the people who have burned people to death.
(November 29, 2018 at 11:53 pm)Everena Wrote: Don't intentionally cause suffering and you won't suffer.
(November 30, 2018 at 12:16 am)Paleophyte Wrote: Tell it to the people eaten by bears.
Do you know how many people have killed and eaten innocent animals for no reason, when they had a refridgerator full of food at home? I think they are called hunters. Now there's something I would never do. Or torture fish on rods of death.
(November 29, 2018 at 11:53 pm)Everena Wrote: Yeah, don't try to make rabbits sound all sweet and innocent. Animals kill and eat each other all the time. Scary.
(November 30, 2018 at 12:16 am)Paleophyte Wrote: Yeah, that is rather my point! Glad you finally got it. Nature red in tooth and claw. Nasty way to make the world, don't you think?
No, that is my point. The only way to stop the cycle is for the animals and people to stop intentionally doing horrible things. I would never kill a person or an animal. I even try not to step on ants and I put spiders and other creatures that wander in, back outside. But many people just kill like it's nothing. It's not their life, so what do they care. Well, some day they will care. All life matters.
(November 29, 2018 at 11:53 pm)Everena Wrote: No, this is people we are talking about. This is not God's planet or God's challenge. This planet was created for us, not for God. You don't want to suffer, don't cause any suffering to others and you won't. It is as simple as that.
(November 30, 2018 at 12:16 am)Paleophyte Wrote: People didn't make this planet. Stop playing like the natural forces are our fault.
And stop acting like causing suffering is some form of karma or justice. You know that suffering doesn't make people better.
No, but this planet was made for people and animals.Suffering is a form of karma and justice, like it or not.
(November 29, 2018 at 11:53 pm)Everena Wrote: Suffering only the pain that ou have intentionally caused to others is in no way horrific punishment. It is just eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth.
Perfect justice for the victims of your wrath.
(November 30, 2018 at 12:16 am)Paleophyte Wrote: Yes, it really is horrific. You don't beat the good into people.
People are beating it into themselves by doling it out. Don't dish it out if you can't take it. cause it is coming for you. It's like Newton's 3rd Law For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
(November 29, 2018 at 11:53 pm)Everena Wrote: God is not beating anyone. People are intentionally causing pain, and then suffering only the pain they have intentionally caused to others. How many times do I have to explain this to you? Jesus explains it like 10 times in the NT.  OT God explains it over and over. Hindus and Buddhists know it. Muslims live by it. That's like 5 billion people who have no problem understanding perfect justice. Try to wrap your head around it.
(November 30, 2018 at 12:16 am)Paleophyte Wrote: Oh, I think I see precisely what you mean. A couple of points:
(1) Making people suffer the pain that they caused doesn't make them better people. It makes them even more brutal. That is precisely how bullies are made.
Wrong. It makes them better people or our universe would not be doing it this way.
(November 30, 2018 at 12:16 am)Paleophyte Wrote: (2) God is all-powerful and can always find a better way to make people better. One that is painless.
Obviously not, since this is the way it is happening all around us. This is the only way.
(November 29, 2018 at 11:53 pm)Everena Wrote: Only in your warped version of God and reality. People learn to stop hurting others by suffering through the pain they have caused.

(November 30, 2018 at 12:16 am)Paleophyte Wrote: No, they really don't. If you beat a kid you don't end up with a better kid. You end up with a kid who beats their kids. If God inflicts suffering on people who cause suffering then he's fighting fire with gasoline.
Wrong. Parents spank and punish their children all the time because it does work.
Beating a kid is totally different, and if you beat your kids, you will get beaten.
God does not inflict anything on us. We build up the negative energy within our own selves every time we intentionally hurt someone and then that negative energy comes back and attacks us.

(November 30, 2018 at 1:12 am)Everena Wrote: You do understand that there are people who have burned people to death right? The KKK, The 200,000 "witches" that were burned to death in the 15th century, arsonists

So your all mighty creator is measuring himself against the KKK and inquisition now, is he?   Can you actually try to rally a few rotting brain cells to smear some neural protoplasm on the things you plan to say before you say them?

God is not punishing anyone. People are doing horrific things and these horrific things are happening back to them. It is caused by their own negative energy. Once they stop intentionally hurting anyone, they no longer have to worry about suffering.

Your description definately evoked the imagery of 'Large' (Humongous?).

If you're happy to go with 'Nebulous', that's okay.

I'm quite happy with 'Cloudy' actually......

Though I'm pretty eure CDF47 has a different 'Idea' about their diety.
How people envision God has absolutely nothing to do with anything.

There is no logical explanation for why consciousness would ever come to be at all, especially not from that big rock in your front yard. Unless when you use the word natural, you mean a deliberate force, in which case, you believe in God.

At work.

I admit to seeing Everena's posts and noting a distinct cultural disconnect between how folks would be using (Potentially different) words to express the same/similar ideas.

Reminds me of the time I sat and looked/listened on as a person from Shrillanka of a Hindu persuasion engaged in discussion with another person from Nigeria of a Christian frame of mind.

Both people were using English since that was the 'Common ground'.

Listening to how their innate, native language affected their choice of words that they used/chose to illustrate ideas was fascinating to me, a (Relatively) native English user/speaker.

Nigeria has been heavily influenced by French settlers. Which added a wonderful 'Flavour' to the person's accent.
