RE: Is there free will in heaven?
October 26, 2011 at 7:42 pm
I actually mentioned this in our chat room today, unless that knowledge includes the fact that you're full of shit I'll still choose evil (by your definition).
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

If there is a God, would you want to know about it? If that God was Jesus, would you follow Him?

I'd love to know about it, from the information currently available (and don't even pretend you have better info than me in this regard) no, I wouldn't.

It really depends on the circumstances. Some laws are foolish and, in my opinion, are not deserving of punishment.
Yes, you have redefined it. Heaven may be different, but that does not make freewill different. Do you have the option not to go to heaven or hell because hell is punishment and heaven is not your idea of paradise? If, as I suspect, the answer is no, then freewill is diminished before entrance into heaven even takes place.

If god wants to reward me, I like it here, how about granting me immortality here? Can I choose that?

Do you think that if you knew for a fact that God exists that you would look at the information much differently?

You have to get past my glasses.

Salty's meaning was irrelevant in the context. She asserted that people are scared of her, even hinting that it had something to do with the color of her skin. She also, if memory serves me right, asserted that alei should bring a weapon, should she choose to visit salty. Salty later said that she didn't mean it the way it sounded, but saw that it could be taken that way. That is fine; the incident went no further. My point is that this situation is being blown out of proportion too. If one is capable of puffing themselves up to look like a scary tough guy, one should be able to handle a few jabs at their intellect. Now, I really do not want to go further with this. People here know where the lines should be drawn. If one is dishing it out and can't take it, they have no recourse. Tough titty, said the kitty. She is one in a great many who do not like being told they are wrong. She is taking it personally. Yes, in other threads, her words were taken personally. Given that they were hate speech hidden behind the veil of Christianity, one can hardly blame those that lashed out. Salty and everyone here have a choice, stick to the argument and not the person (or at least pepper your insults with actual on-topic arguments) or end the conversation altogether. Page after page of useless "everyone is a meany" and "you are too" isn't getting anyone anywhere.

No Lucent, I wouldn't. In fact, I derive great amounts of comfort from knowing that it isn't fact.

So, you don't feel you should have to obey laws you disagree with?

You have the free will to make decisions based on the available options. If by free will you mean that any unrealistic idea of yours will come true, then no. Now, I would ask..who do you think would know whats better for you, you or the one who created you and knows you better than you know yourself?

In the hypothetical, if God did exist then you would be wrong about nearly everything. Are you saying that wouldn't change your perspective?
