Food Intolerances

With me it's gluten, which is a shame because bread has to be my favourite type of food of all time Sad

It also depends upon what sort of gluten I ingest. If I have highly processed white bread or pasta I get more symptoms than if I have unrefined granary bread etc.

My main symptoms are..
  • A fat bloated feeling
  • Lethargy
  • Phlegm
  • Itchy skin
  • Bags under the eyes
  • Irritability
  • Short term memory problems

Hmmm, looking at the lot perhaps it might be a good idea if I just bit the bullet and went gluten free, at least for a while :S

You're lucky, I have a friend that gets violently ill after eating wheat & some other grains.

I have an intolerance to tomatoes, which is ok because I also can't stand them. I do love pizza though, so I usually have to ask for a different base.

How many times have you cooked shit?

Why wouldn't you use an actual foodstuff when cooking? Big Grin

Personally, I HATE broccoli. I'm far beyond a mere intolerance. I think broccoli should be exterminated.

I like broccoli! Tongue Unless you're talking about eating it plain, then yes, it should be exterminated.
Don’t ask.

I'm also one of the fortunate who don't have many problems eating anything.

All though a few chocolates can give me Hellacious heartburn.

And I don't like rich desserts as much as I used to.

Reason for Edit: I spelled "desserts" as "deserts". Big Grin

I am one of the lucky ones...I have encountered no food intolerance to date BUT I do have trouble with some breads and can only have so much in one day. Broccoli??....Love it raw sauteed dripping in butter and cream YUM! The one thing I will not eat is boiled green Beans...YUK! Crisp on a sea of cream sauce different story.....but then again ANYTHING tastes better with a cream sauce!! (puns not intended)

I have heard that many of my friends have developed food intolerance over the years....I am just wondering WHAT has gotten into our food chain to cause this sharp increase??

Careful - some naysayers are picking on this as a reason not to use GMO's. I've heard of people having intolerances to one thing or another in the past - I suspect we've also gotten way better at identifying issues as ingredient intolerances rather than other allergies and whatnot. One of my friends went for years before a doctor realized he had a wheat allergy.
