OP was a WTF moment for me. Never been religious, enjoyed the last 67 years.

I don't think This life is meaningless. Y'all don't like having people tell you what you think, which is understandable. The thing is, we don't like it either when it is done to us.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I've left a mark on this world, my life was well spent. I'm good to go.

We are not telling you what to think. We are merely telling you why your logic is flawed. Nobody here wants to be your dictator.

CL, out of all the theists here and as long as you have been here you should know better than that. This is not about human rights, but about the credibility of what you might claim.

Life does have meaning, I agree, but just not a supernatural meaning. I wasn't around 4 billion years ago, so why would life be any different for me 5 billion years from now?

My life has meaning to me now, while I am alive. But no, I am not so narcissistic as to think this planet or universe was all put here just for me, much less one species. The universe did not have me in it prior to 51 years ago, and I think it will go on fine without me. That does not mean I want to die now, it just means I accept I am not important in cosmic time.

I've never taken those positions on either of these issues.

I can't speak for other atheists, but my own position is that life/(human) lives have meaning, but that meaning is 1) self-defined and 2) individual, and thus not to be generalized to all.

Regarding ethics, I have no problem with thinking about them as a society's best practices to keep conflicts at a manageable level while helping the society to keep growing and competing.  Good and evil are subjective concepts, and I'm happy that they aren't static.  Maybe adding my voice to the discussion won't have the effect I want, but I appreciate the opportunity to be part of the conversation.

This. People seldom share aspirations beyond utter necessities.

They aren't myths, they are reasonable conclusions.

No, they are claims made in antiquity by people who had no modern scientific understanding like we do now.
