Where is the evidence that Alex did form his opinion on the basis for reason or evidence?
You show me these reasons and evidence and I will cover you in a sea of kudos.  Smile

What do you think atheists use to arrive at their conclusions anyway, if not reason and evidence?

Not all conclusions are correct so what you know in many cases is incorrect therefore when a conclusion lack evidence and she is incorrect she end up (down) in the corral of dogmas.  Lightbulb

Are you suggesting that we have no evidence that the material world exists, and a lot of evidence that supernatural things like God and an afterlife exist? If you think that is the case, then I suggest you furnish us with some of this overwhelming evidence for God and the afterlife. You don't even believe in an afterlife as such, but instead prefer reincarnation, so you're being intellectually dishonest here. If you're asserting that the atheist has no reason for belief in the existence of the material world, then I think you've lost your mind. To borrow one of your excuses, the existence of material reality is as obvious as the fact that water is wet. I no more need to provide evidence of the material world than I do that water is wet. It is an undeniable fact. As a practical matter, the atheist refuses to grant belief to the existence of things for which there is insufficient evidence. If instead, one chose belief in things that lacked sufficient evidence, their beliefs would know no bounds, and their internal model of the world would become inconsistent, with mutually contradictory things being granted credence. As that would be a violation of the principle of non-contradiction, we have good a priori reasons for believing that models of reality constructed according to such criterion are not valid descriptions of reality. Are you trying to contend that we have reason to think, instead, that black is white, up is down, and right is wrong? I don't think you even believe that. So your complaint is inconsistent with your own prior representations. Of course, if reality is really inconsistent, I have no reason for you to make sense from one moment to the next, even if I presume that you are rational.

As to your kudos, I don't give a shit what you do or do not kudos. Your kudos are like the vomit of a dog -- not something to be sought for their own sake.

Ranting during one of your nightmare?  Alarm
It seems so considering that I never deny that the material world does not exist.
Didn't I said that matter exist as the last stage of creation and from here start the first stage of evolution?

Beside I also believe in both afterlife and reincarnation.
Permanent afterlife come once we reach the peak of evolution while reincarnations go on and on until we reach the peak of evolution and when that happen the afterlife is permanent putting an end to the continuous cycle of reincarnations.

Atheists are free to believe in anything they like but please don't go around saying that what they believe is based on evidence because that is not the case and that is also highlight by the fact that when I asked you for evidence you as usually put the burden of prove on me instead of answering the question.

I gave my reasons. That you still contend that I haven't in the face of my doing so just makes you an irrational twat.

Does anyone else think lil rik is hilarious? Lol, the smilies are awesome!
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I think lilrik definitely has stamina.  As far as I can tell he's kept the same argument going for I think about 2 or 3 years in a row.  Pretty much since whenever he joined. I don't think I've actually seen him talk about anything else, it's been the same argument, same topic, year in year out.

I just checked, he joined around 5 years ago. That's 5 years worth of smileys and going along with this same line of reasoning.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

I bet he's CDF's cousin.

I truly feel sorry for people who have terrible lives, and instead on trying to help themselves, they rely on the fact that when they die, they'll be in paradise. That is scary, to me.

I don't know what's worse -- Just enduring the crap of life while waiting for the bus to heaven, or thinking that prayer is the best way to fix the crap.

If anything, I think a non-believer will be tend to be more resilient in a crisis, quicker and more methodical in searching for real-world resources and less prone to magical thinking.  When you have no reason to believe that supernatural help is imminent, you roll up your sleeves and get to work.

In the same way as the chronically deluded are funny.

In the same way that racists and sexists are funny.

In the same way that egomaniacs are funny.
Dying to live, living to die.
