The difference between what he SAID and what is actually happening to kids ...is that his words are only words.

Words that he intended to cause hurt with.  And that makes all the difference.

I don't disagree, we should all be cautious, especially if we have influence, and I thought that comment was in bad taste...but...he was trying to paint a grim picture for Trump. Not all kids coming over the border are with their parents, there are human trafficking problems going on, so there's that, too. But, Trump (or you or me) will ever be so desperate to know what it might be like to take the risk of being arrested and separated from your kids, because we are being driven away from our country.

You make a valid point, however, the words were said with the intent to cause harm. Whether or not this guy is important should not really matter. He put his opinion out there for everyone to see. I think it was vile and he should have known better. There's lots of ways to say that a person disagrees with the current administration without resorting to threats on a child who doesn't have anything to do with what is going on.

I may not like tRump but I certainly wouldn't wish ill will towards his kid. It's not the kid's fault that he has a narcissistic, misogynistic, bigoted,

I agree, I'm not sure though he was actually willing bad intent upon Trump's kid. It was more to prove a point...but I get it, and don't disagree.

But, just think...his words are still just words, and while they are vile, it's far more vile what's actually going on with others' kids. I liken this to a friend of mine who flirts with married women, and I tell him...''oh, as long as they're not your wife, eh?''

I think the blatant hate pushes away your more centrist and non political voters, as well as also serving as a reason to continue to fire up the Republican base. I think you see that reflected in his approval ratings going up. If it keeps up I don't think the mid terms are going to look as good as the Democrats are thinking they'll be and 2020 will be a nightmare for them.

The office deserve as much respect as the system of which it is a part. A system that can put a trump in that office will only be enabled and encouraged to do more unremediated damage if it continue to be accorded a formal respect as one that functioned adaquately. Disrespecting the system now is the only chance there is to prompt the system to correct itself to the degree where it can begin to earn deserved respect again. Otherwise The formal respect it no longer deserve would simply be a shield for those who robbed it of its respectability to hide behind to while continuing to use the system to do further damage.
