Sounds good, but even for the natives they accept forget that the God character sees his loyalists as sheep. a "flock".

That literally comes from the age of kings, not only in the three major monotheisms but even in prior polytheism.

You can always find periods in every nation/religion in any religious history where the leaders and holy writings would reflect both either an authoritarian rule and compassionate rule, but back then, 2,000 years ago no part of the world was a completely authoritarian rule free world.

Even the Ancient Greeks and Romans were not family rule free. Some of their leaders were more tolerant than others, but it was still family/class rule.

Saudi Arabia is making an attempt to catch up with the times by allowing women to drive. But, in American history religion was used to deny women the right to vote.

Buddhism and Hinduism is no different. If you study their past, it would be false to claim they've always been the victim, even when rightfully pointing out Christian western dominionism.

You treat your fellow human being with empathy, yes, up and until they try to physically harm you. No religion in the world needed to state the obvious.

I am starting to wonder if Atheists here have even bothered to read the whole bible for the full context.

Ok, how to sum it up. See the passage you took? Yeah that is jewish laws. Only cherry picked thing that is kind of part of the new testament is the ten commandments, thats it.

Here, allow me to show you

Jeremiah 31:31-34

“The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
32 It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant,
though I was a husband to[a] them,[b]”
declares the Lord.
33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
after that time,” declares the Lord.
“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
34 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,”
declares the Lord.
“For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”

Romans 7:4-6
4 So, my dear brothers and sisters, this is the point: You died to the power of the law when you died with Christ. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God. 5 When we were controlled by our old nature,[b] sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced a harvest of sinful deeds, resulting in death. 6 But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.

So are you guys getting it yet? Christian practice. Aka Jewish laws is not cannon unless you become a jew. I really hate how i must explain this to every fedora so called intellect who claim to be intelligent but know jack about how the rules work. What you quoted was Leviticus 19:33-34 which is aka jewish laws. somewhere between exoddus to whatever the fifth book of bible is called by rules and laws is by default not really valid in christian practice, so to sum it up. Screw them. Criticize it all you like but atleast be concistent with your criticism, rewarding ignorance i absolutely think should be something a supposed intellect like an atheist would be aware of. But i guess being a scholar is too much work for you

You better pray and ask, see if that works, sorry i didnt make those rules. I am just educated on theology, its your lack of understanding the rules that should be punished here for cherry picking to encourage socialism/marxism as i know most pussified atheists in western world wants to push for. I mean i get if you wanna criticize religion but it is pretty sneaky to drive a political game and exploit religious voters. I mean i guess this is your typical tactic when USA has 70% christians i guess.

Don't you just love how these "theologically educated" chumps come here full of assumptions to tell us what we think and what we know?

Errr no, if the authors of the OT had knowledge of Christ then why did they not impart that knowledge and skip the prophecy's?

The primary purpose of the NT is prophecy mining the OT.

Again, I'll admit I was probably a bit overzealous with my wording initially. I should have said that I -believe- that to be the primary purpose. I understand many will disagree with me, among those people of the Jewish faith.

I made a statement of theological and spiritual belief, not a statement in attempt to analyze the intent of the original writers of the Old Testament.

My main point was, as a Christian, I do not believe we (Christians) should be using Old Testament laws as an excuse to bully immigrants, especially when Jesus taught us to love our neighbors, and to care for the least of these. He basically taught to be just like the Good Samaritan.
