Pro lifers who believe in the absolute sanctity of life can not support the death penalty and yet many of them do
So while they hold life to be sacred the principle only applies to those who have not committed a capital offence

Many of them also don't support the death penalty. Religious Catholics, for example. I don't think you can make an automatic correlation between prolife and pro death penalty.

Abortion is the killing of young humans.

At 5 days, all that exists is a 16 cell blastocyst. The cells are completely undifferentiated and it looks like a balloon. It is still in the fallopian tube.

Between week 1 and week four, the cells start differentiating, but there is not even a neural tube yet.

Week 5, the neural tube starts developing nerve cells.

Week 6, neurons have formed synapsis and are sending simple impulses.

Week 7, the heart starts beating.

Week 8, the spinal chord, barely developed, looks more like a tail.

Week 9, the eyes, mouth, tongue are forming.

Week 10, hands and feet are starting to form fingers and toes. Brain waves are present (much different than nerve impulses at week 6).

Week 11, gums and teeth.

Week 12. fingers and toes more recognisable, but still webbed.

Week 13, the fetus is still about 7 cm long (about 2 3/4 inches).

At week 20, the ears are functional, at week 21, the eyelids separate.

So, where in this process does the fertilized egg become a 'young human'?

Look at the past to see what happened before abortion was legalised and you will realise why I am pro-choice. 

Go on do a bit of research into the lives it ruined.
The death toll among the young women desperate to try any means to get rid of the foetus. The unwanted children left in orphanages to rot.
The burden that those would place on the state.
The horror that would follow re-imposing a ban.

Go on.
