If he is arguing against A then he should explain to us why he thinks that 16-24 year olds are snowflakes.

B itself proves that.

Sheltering people from valid criticisms of behavior(s) can cause just as much damage.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Note the word valid criticism but even that can be done in a way less damaging to them

Snowflake will pass, just as wuss, pansy, special, fragile, mommas boy, delicate flower, cry baby, .....................

Would they be just as incensed if told they were peculiar, strange, out of touch/tune?

Ya can't sugar coat everything.

One time calling someone a snow flake could pass. Repetitively being told their snowflakes sometimes  as a blanket dismal of any actual concerns is harmful.I'm not saying we should sugar coat things i'm saying we should be cautious of saturating the minds of youths with negativity or it will come back to bit us later .

Do you mean "at one time" or "only one time"? If the behavior continues, and it's seen a inappropriate, the criticism needs to continue.

Maybe you and I are cross talking about the "motive" in it's use/over use. Shaming is the wrong motive.

BTW, members here (and the internet as a whole) are very adept at blanket dismissals/condemnations, myself included sometimes. I think it's the nature of the beast.

If the behavior is not changing i argue the method has not worked and something new might be needed. Not as thou i put much stock in using "snowflake "or "pansy " in criticism of youths as a behavior modifier.I find it ineffective on youths and tends to have opposite effect leading to death spiral and a i worry a self fulfilling prophecy.

I agree shame is a bad motive but the question comes how they receiver views your use of the word

And yes we all do blanket statements but i think this is a trend we need to buck and against the often still maturing minds of youths especially

As a personnel note i have seen the damage saturated negativity can have on youths after all their is a reason suicides among natives youths a.
