How many pods per day?
#21
RE: How many pods per day?
Oh, it's about coffee.  I'm awake off and on round the clock, and I generally drink coffee during all waking hours.  Probably 2 or 3 pots a day.  Podless.

So answer, for me, zero per day... the only time I'll have coffee is if it's in a liqueur chocolate, anywhere else, though it smells nice it doesn't taste nice to me.

Squishy - K cups are the small one time use cups that go in keurig coffee makers.

Expensive little fuckers too.

Aww... I haven't been called Squishy in a while Wink Yeah, my Googling efforts involved watching a short YouTube video of one getting used Wink So I just made a rough guess that it was all coffee, since it was being used in a coffee machine, but in the video it looked like a whole rack of different flavours of some drink, each one self-contained in its own little sealed cup and then just plopped into the machine. So I don't know if it's just coffee or other hot drinks as well, but coffee does have a lot of varieties in a coffee shop, so it would make sense for it to be just different varieties of coffee, each with their own particular proportions of ingredients sealed in a cup, like a Pot Noodle, waiting for the machine to make it. If is like that, I'd understand each one being expensive... marketed as you can have a perfect latte or ?Mocha or whatever quickly and easily with no fuss with one of these things.

If it can be generalised to caffeine then I used to be well and truly addicted to very large daily quantities, but I gave it up recently, and now only a few sips every now and then (of Pepsi or Coke) as a treat, but am generally caffeine free.

RE: How many pods per day?
I used to work from breakfast to lunch, then get off watch and kip out until supper, then back on watch until midnight, then kip out until breakfast... I'd do this all the way from San Diego, CA, to Pusan, Korea, traveling at 12 knots (13.1 mph). But not in a straight line, of course. During the Vietnam War people would be on Yankee Station for months at a time, doing the same work schedule I did.

Coffee was required. It kept me from falling asleep and going face first into a steam turbine.

Squishy, you Brits will be happy to know you can make hot tea with K cups as well. My favorite is Chai tea.

That wouldn't be me, I recently went ten days with no movement. Block small bowel.

I had that in '96; my 3rd surgery as a result of a ruptured appendix in '74. It perforated above the blockage in '96. I didn't eat or shit for 3 weeks, and lost 32 pounds. Jacked my kidneys, too.

BoT, I drink instant coffee. When I got in a real hurry to meet deadlines when I still worked, I had a jar of instant coffee in my desk that I shook some out of it into mouth and drank a slug of water to wash it down. No time for heating up and sipping a cup. One time I just said to hell with that and ate coffee nips candy. Now, I have three civilized mugs of coffee a day. I have time to kick back and enjoy it, now.

I used to make a pot of coffee "just in case" and then only drink a third of it, four cups. So the pods are cheaper for me.

Your mileage may vary and if it does I'll hate you forever, or until Friday.

Did you consider only making a third of a pot? 🤔

Ain't nobody got time for that.

You're right. It does take up time better spent sleeping.

You know, I find that if I chug some water and eat a small breakfast that gives me a good couple of hours of energy. And then sometime in the late morning I drink a cup, and I'm good for the day. I notice if I have coffee first thing in the morning I'll crash before noon.

Cool... I certainly like tea more than coffee but never heard of Chai tea. But generally I'm not really one for hot drinks... even hot chocolate... which I guess that thing can make as well? Wink Though I'd have them occasionally.

Yeah, but I never knew how much coffee I'd be drinking, that was a function of my medications. Some days they dropped like a ton of bricks. And I set it up the night before because I am a wreck in the mornings on a good day.
