I'm a Florida voter now

I'm a Florida voter now
I became a Florida resident a couple of months ago. Since I've lived here for over two years now, legally, it seemed necessary. The only other two states in which I've been a registered voter are New York and California. Voting seemed SO easy compared to now... or even two years ago when I was so sick, I couldn't be bothered to even send my absentee ballot to CA.

I pay close attention to news/ current affairs, but everything is just so... mired in Trump and his bullshit, that I can't seem to figure out the best way to think things through.

Can anyone help a woman who's always, fairly comfortably, voted in states and districts that didn't consistently hold up to her *mild* leftist leanings; who now lives among... well... a very good number of people whose views (or something??) cause them to completely dismiss a different idea as soon as they find out it might be different? The left-leaners here tend to stay quiet, while the righties (or whatever they are now) spout their shit. Since I work in FOH at a restaurant, that's where I have to hear it, and I also have to bite my tongue painfully. I'm looking for a new job, but I can't be guaranteed much of anything here.

I'm just a little lost, and I'm not really sure how to approach this whole voting thing here.

If you live in a deeply red county in FLA it wouldn't hurt to contact your local democratic office to get help. Take this shit seriously. Try contacting @FlaDems (Florida Democrats) If you are having or feel you are going to have a problem registering and voting.

Why? Look I live in a deeply red county in my state, but I don't give a shit. Change does not happen by sitting out and giving up. Montana has a democratic governor. Oklahoma has also had a democrat in the past as gov. My state NC has turned more purple but was for decades a deeply red state. Fla like Ohio and Penn and Michigan are all swing states. YOUR VOTE MATTERS no matter what part of Florida you live in. Currently you have a fucking dickhead Governor who has fucked up Florida over environmental issues, red algae, and has turned the state into a shooting gallery.

VOTE unless you want America to become a third world dumpster.Don't give 45 8 years. Don't let the GOP let billionaires continue to fleece the rest of us for their bad gambling on Wall Street.

You need to pretend to be a Trump supporter and get them to demand a wall be built isolating Florida from the rest of America.

Most of Florida is only 6 foot above sea level, a lot of it is 3 foot above. So very soon most of the state will be under water and you'll want to keep the Floridians contained.

You have a couple of options.  First, while there may not be candidates or measures you want to vote for, there are sure to be ones you want to vote against.  Try that.  Second, find some well-informed, well-meaning person whom you like and trust.  Ask their advice, then do the opposite.

But however you choose to vote, never forget that the most important possible way to use your sovereign franchise will come this summer.  When you look over the choices for 'Funniest Member', be sure to click 'BrianSoddingBoru4'.  Thank you. [insert platitudes and empty promises here]

If you can't find someone to vote against you're not paying attention and it may be a good idea to not vote.
