Response to Darkmatter2525 ""Why Does Anything Matter?"

RE: Response to Darkmatter2525 ""Why Does Anything Matter?"
I tried to read it, but don't understand how it went from that video to your personal cult, to strawman to cannibalism to a game video. I see you are acting like a typical elitist snob, but I still have some hope that you'll last a bit longer, though straw isn't normally known to last too long once it's soaked because fluidity is harmful just like flowing from one video to another without context however that context even if applied may not be apparent to all, and that's why you should take this opportunity to clarify the context of your post so that your personal bias doesn't get in the way of your explanation of why you disagree with the former but agree with the latter without actually looking into the arguments presented so far.

Sorry. Maybe restructure what you are saying and try again

Typical elitist answer in the atheist community haha Tongue

But i get what you mean. I may have trouble communicating with people that way so i am not perfect in how to proclaim in a way that is easy to understand. But i think it should be ok enough to get what i mean

Two things;

• If you find someone telling you that they can’t understand your writing “elitist”, I don’t know what to tell you. Other than to sack up, take the constructive criticism and restructure your post in a more understandable way.

• It’s been said above, but I feel like it needs reinforcing; if you’re here for a dialogue, great, we’re glad to talk to you, but if you’re here to “proclaim” and be a twat about it then hang on for a bumpy ride.

As an atheist, I have never supported cannibalism with consent. That's nastE.

If it weren't for how atheists are a bunch of cannibals, I'd feel safer on a plane.

Quick question, where does the religious cult of obvious good and obvious evil come done on the issue of cults?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Aroura is about as non-elitist as they come. She was spot on with her comments. You are incoherent. That's a valid criticism. It's also something you can work on. For starters, try to organize your post into paragraphs, each paragraph devoted to a single point (or subpoint) of your general point. Then look at your entire post. Are you making a single point with your post? Is it something that can be easily apprehended and discussed? Or is it a bunch of disjointed points that are hardly related to one another?

We talk to coherent theists all the time here and have meaningful arguments in which both sides are engaged. Hell, we even have incoherent theists who hang around here who we support when they share personal matters, but we nonetheless point out their incoherence when they post a poorly-assembled argument. So consider hanging around. You may end up fitting in.

You posted a darkmatter video that argued for the idea that life can be meaningful even though it ends. I hated the video. It was gross. I agree with the point it made, though. Why did you post a video and then not address the video's thesis?

The cannibalism thing was just out of left field. And it was an attempt to strawman. How so?

The Phantom Pain video did nothing for your argument, bud.

See ya, around.

Just finished reading a book today that idiots like the OP would be better off reading before shitting all over the rest of us.

It's called The Darkening Age by Catherine Nixey and it details the early christian church's all too successful attempts to destroy classical knowledge, fulture and silence (through murder all too often) anybody even in slight disagreement with us. All in all it paints a picture of what the world would be like today if the Nazis won.

PS next time you're told the Nazis were not christian point out the devestation wrought in the world by early christins like John Chrysostom and how their tactics of thuggish gangs of murderers, book burnings, stigmatisation of knowledge and religious persecution were copied almost perfectly by the Nazis.

The difference is not that modern totalitarian regimes were more evil than early Christians, it's access to modern weapons that makes the difference.

There is no telling how much damage early Christians would have done if they had access to the same kind of modern weapons and killing technologies as the Nazis had.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

You've never seen that video where Richard Dawkins stand up on a plane and yells, "There's too many motherfucking cannibals on this motherfucking plane!"?
