Sometimes you gotta give your opponents a little slack, and approach an argument on their terms in order to make a point to them.

Fuck 'em.

Human sacrifice seems like it might be a few miles away from pacifism, to me.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Or if you think that Christianity is in fact a pacifistic religion, what do you make of all the gun toting and war mongering?

Depends on how they cherry pick, and the situation. The faces presented in public and private are often very different.

Like Hillary says. Have a private and public persona.

According to the OT god and most of Christianity, certainly not.

Maybe according to Jesus: turn the other cheek?

It is at its core a belligerent, domineering religion.   Pacifism isn’t its goal, but merely one of the many means that it carefully made certain to coopt for use when circumstances calls for in pursuit of its own aggrandizement.   It would just quickly and easily as it teaches the turning of other cheek switch to being amongst the most sadistically murderous  advocate of savage force and brutal violence when circumstances seemed to it to call for that in purpsuit if it’s own domineering agenda. Nah.  Don't give the morons that much credit.  These are catholick shitheads but you can bet your ass that all the other xhristards will come up with similar bullshit arguments.

The article mentions resisting, and war, but Jesus said turn the other cheek, abandon your family, and sell everything you own, because he thought the world was going to end within a few decades. So what's the point of raising an army and fighting evil? Of course when the world didn't end, they had to reinterpret what he meant by that. Because Jesus isn't allowed to be wrong.

I was taught in catholic schools that Jesus wants us to treat others like we would like to be treated, they also taught us give unto Ceasar what is Ceasar’s (accept the inevitabilites of life)

I always subscribed to the idea of “God helps those who help themselves”, not in the Bible it seems to be a better reflection of reality.
