The person interested in knowing the spirit within.
Nothing to do with religion.

When I tell people I'm an atheist they invariably ask me "Well, are you spiritual?"   It's their last holdout for atheists.  Their thinking is .. "If they don't believe in a religious god they GOTTA believe in something, because if you don't  you're just not a human being."    I think that's what's going on in their brains.

I would define spiritual as belonging to the supernatural, something beyond or not subject to natural laws.  I suppose one could not believe in a God, but believe that there is a realm other than the natural one that we experience.
