Called husband to ask if he had any poison around here...he said not that would kill her.  So...off I wander to find a brick and hope for the best.  Spider squished...egg sack as well.

Husband would have just sold the house and moved.

My poor old heart can't take shocks like that any more.  Sheesh...I think I need a nap.

Thank you for not providing pictures.   Faints

I considered taking a picture but it was more important to put the cover back on the skimmer, put the dogs in the house, and then go find a weapon...all quickly so that she stayed where she was and I could complete the execution.

That, and if she had made a sudden move I probably would have dropped my phone either in the skimmer or in the pool.

But, you are welcome.

Heck, no! Golden Garden Spiders are beneficial and non-aggressive.

I think that they have been displaced by some serious bitches, here in California.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

The spider species Argiope aurantia is commonly known as the yellow garden spider, black and yellow garden spider, golden garden spider, writing spider, zigzag spider, corn spider, or McKinley spider. It is common to the contiguous United States, Hawaii, southern Canada, Mexico, and Central America. (Wikipedia)

I've eaten spiders like this before.
Deep fried with seasoning, they taste quite nice except for the abdomen which is a bit squishy but still a nice meaty taste.
Deep fried grasshoppers are the best.
I've eaten quite a few packets of them, just like BBQ chips.

Anyway, spiders are allowed to live at my place but only if they don't insist on putting a web over the places I walk.
So I'll knock the web down four or five times and sometimes relocate the spider to another part of the yard, but sadly, sometimes they keep coming back and I have to kill them.
