Yeah, I know this is an old thread but not going to start a new one for Spider Madness II...

Went to the same skimmer basket this morning and pulled the cover to find....an even bigger black widow than last time. Husband could see her from the other side of the pool even though he wasn't wearing his glasses.

Good grief, I need to remember to use extreme caution when opening that cover. Sticking my fingers in the holes to lift the cover is a process that needs some consideration.

Funny story.

Spiders have never particularly bothered me. But one day, I was lying on my bed when I caught sight of a spider crawling on my ceiling. It was a rather large spider, I noticed.

Then, the funniest thing happened. It crawled all the way across the ceiling until it was directly above me and dropped right on to my bare chest.

Like I said, I'm not bothered by spiders. But when this happened, I leapt up off my bed, screaming like a little girl, frantically trying to brush the spider off.

One of my guy picked up a "cocoon" he found stuck to a tree. He put it in his pocket and forgot about it. The next day the baby spiders started coming out of his pants, in droves. We called him "Spiderman" forever after.
