Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Okay: You know, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, if Hilary was in literally any other country, she'd probably be the Conservative candidate (her views aren't too far off from the Goldwater Girl she was in 1964), but because the Republican party set the bar that fucking low, she has no choice but to be a Democrat. Though I suppose marrying a Democratic politician helps.

Thanks for the info, distasteful as it is. I guess admitting an error is not compatible with being a racist narcissistic demagogue. Uh. No. She' s anti gun, pro choice, and not in favor of anything but public schools. I'd peg Ms. "It takes a village" closer to socialist than conservative. (November 2, 2018 at 1:23 pm)Rev. I, of course, know relatively little about US politics, being a Brit, but a quick google of "Goldwater Girl" brings up this: Quote:Hillary Clinton didn’t last long on that side of the political spectrum, however, reporting that “By the time I was a college junior, I had gone from being a Goldwater Girl to supporting the [1968] anti-war campaign of Eugene McCarthy.” http://www.snopes.com/fact-check/goldwater-girl/
Which would still be part of the baseline that even many European conservative parties still accept. Well, the pro-choice might still be in question for many of the more Catholic countries, but pro-gun, anti state-run-school parties seem to be very rare and marginal indeed.

Disliking Hillary for no good reason is what got us in this mess with Trump as president.

I guess that much as with the Blair/Brown UK "New Labour" government, Hillary manifests further to the right than their nominal position would suggest, in the hope of securing centrist/marginal right-leaning votes. There is also the problem in the states that anything at all to the left is branded "socialist" or even "communist", where even the former is a toxic word in the US zeitgeist because of the cold war. My labour party membership card has the word "socialist" on it. I bet Dem party members couldn't say the same, unfortunately. RE: Hillary Clinton - They ( black men) All look alike.

This may be the end result of America being the dumping ground for the rejects of every other nation (especially the Europeans, Anglo-Saxon Protestant European nations doubly so): the political scene becomes fundamentally broken. Honestly, from what I've read of Goldwater, especially compared with his successors half a century later, I could say that he'd probably be kicked out of the Republican party today, but he'd probably thrive in another country's conservative party.
