Round next:
1. I love almost everything Star Wars or Yrek related.
2. I haven't been shot, ever.
3. Despite appearance I HATE having my picture taken.
4. Someone once spiked my drink in a bar. Luckily I noticed a bitter taste.
5. On my bookshelf behind my desk at home I have medical texts, a bible, a quran, and a Discworld book called The Last Hero.
6. I have several katanas (3).
7. I am a brown belt in ninjutsu.
8. I'm not drunk right now.
9. I can't think of anything else right now.

7. consumed Enid Blyton' books a lot as a child (she's a British author), and so I often use British sounding phrases when writing.
I wonder if anyone else does that. When I was in high school I started reading William F Buckley Jr., but not because I have any conservative inclinations. Nope, I just liked his linguistic style. He is one of the writers I've mimicked. Kant was another, I'm sure there are still people I should apologize to for subjecting them to it. I might also have lifted parts of my sense of humor from Gerry Durrell. I think I've read everything he wrote, the three autobiographical ones from his childhood on Corfu are the best but they all make me laugh hard at some points.

I'm sure many people are influenced by the language and style of authors they read, but in my case it often seems out of place when the rest of my writing and speaking style is definitely not British.

Actually I often pick up aspects of the speaking styles of people I talk with too. Do you do that one?

I do, but only if I've spent the bulk of the day, for at least a few consecutive days, with them. Though strangely enough all these years in India haven't made me pick up a distinct Indian style at all...

I'd like to hear 10 facts from MK.
I don't think I've heard one all my time here!
