Er, no. Religion is cancer because of 10001 reasons, divisiveness being just 1 of them. So the proposed shirt might be divisive (although perhaps it will unify and galvanise the atheists/agnostic majority?) - well, you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs. Because galvanizing polar opposite sides of an emotional debate has historically been successful? You can't make a omelette without breaking eggs but you don't have to have an omelette at all. You just want an omelette. You want your side to win so you support your side by galvanizing because your side has to be right... sure go ahead, as I said, to each their own. law of conflict escalation is really socially forward. At least the religious don't have a monopoly on it.

I guess it would be better if slavery had never been abolished in the states then, and the Unionists had been all like, "Hey, y'all do what you want, we don't want no conflict, we're as galvanised as Angel Delight in our views up here!"

I have a t-shirt with 'I can't go to church I'm allergic to nuts' written on it. I get a few funny looks but I have never been arrested for it.

How about: "Religions reminds me of kidneys; I've tried them a few times but always found them to be repulsive and taking the piss."

I just want to retract my earlier comment about divisiveness being the cancer. I was confusing this thread with ones about political divisiveness. I'm not necessarily of the same mind about religion. Maybe, maybe not. I'd have to think about it.

The core truth of Slavery was that people treat things they own better that they treat things they rent. Have you ever rented a car. The piles of control, bitterness and oppression heaped on top of that basic truth make slavery as a whole untenable, but seeking the truth usually boils down to a value statement on humanity. Where slavery went wrong was power over others instead of value of others. I believe religion took the same wrong turn and I think it’s precisely because of divisiveness power and greed
