BUT you should check for accomodations on freighter/container ships. Much cheaper than a cruise liner. Nothing fancy but it gets you there. Get one to Japan and another to Oz. Worth checking into.

I'm Brian's friend. I'm kinda wondering how a cowboy hat wearing, born in texas raised in oklahoma american "bogan" is going to fit in. LMAO! I certainly expect them to "take the piss" out of me. it's all good though.

I remember being on a skype chat with brian when he was there and the nurses attending our mutual friend Bob giggled when I said the word "y'all". having never been outside the USA before, it'll be an adventure for me. There will be a bit of sadness at not having Bob around anymore and getting to meet him while there, but I'll meet his family.

Good thing about HB, he may be from a red state, but he is no worshiper of firearms. He's for owning them sure, but accepts we have a problem. I know Australia still sells them, but they have much better laws. 

I wish our Congress would take a lesson from Australia instead of letting one lobby and one industry hold us hostage.

Being sane does not mean the entire country does not have gun sales. It just means they are very selective about who owns them. Big cities and suburbs are not good places for guns. But in your "outback" just like John's Oklahoma, you'd need them for hunting and wild animals.
