1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
It was also an example to us.
1 John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Um....I didn't eat the apple. The whole salvation story is bunk.
You say it's bunk. God says we need salvation. Who should I listen to? Who should you listen to?

No, God never said we need salvation. That's what some superstitious ignorant scribes said a few thousand years ago. The Bible reads like heroic fiction because that's exactly what it is. It is no more believable than the "bibles" of other religions. The Bible is nothing more than a book of mythology, reflecting the ignorance, fears, superstitions and prejudices of the times in which it was written.

Well it can't work that way, you either believe in the whole Bible and the person it represents or you don't believe in the saving power of Jesus. It's rather simple as the Bible states.

Another moment in time I found myself in agreement with you GC, despite not believing in god or Jesus. Where is their faith?

You say scribes, who are fallible humans, did it, so why should I listen to you, who is also a fallible human? I should listen to God.

You only think you should listen to god because you are a particularly fallible human being (by courtesy). You are only projecting your worthless self onto someone else’s fiction to deceive yourself, annoy your fellow men, while making yourself more worthless. You will do better to listen to a better sort of human being who can tell you whether there is a god to listen to. These sort of superior human beings can be readily identified by their telling you there is no god to listen to.
So be less worthless and listen to them.

Says you. Another fallible human. If I am fallible, and you are fallible, then who should I listen to? Are the limitations of humans the answer or is God the answer?
If the people who say there is no God are fools, then why should I listen to them, let alone assume them superior?
Psa 14:1 A Psalm of David." target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Wiki: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Better to listen to God and seek wisdom.
Prov 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Prov 28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

Unfortunately you don't get around your own fallibility so easily. You still choose who to listen to and how to interpret it. You really are in the same boat as everyone else, except you don't want to do the hard work it takes to actually sort these things out.

This is what you are saying, and I agree. We are both fallible. As far as the hard work, you are saying it. If you are fallible, then by what authority can you tell me that? Maybe I am lazy, but why should I assume based on your claim? If you are right, then no problem. My inefficiency isn't an excuse for another fallible human.
God is the answer, Not I.
2 Peter 1:8-11 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
