Aborting Baby Hitler...
January 19, 2019 at 1:31 am
Remember the old days when Pro-Lifers claimed that abortion was bad because good people were the product of high-risk pregnancies? People like Beethoven? Do any of you remember taking that argument and turning that on its head, saying that saving a pregnancy where a woman has already had three children and is pregnant with her fourth by her first cousin/half-uncle is actually saving Hitler? And how they said it was different in that scenario because shut the fuck up?
Quote:Conservative radio host Ben Shapiro said Friday at the annual March for Life rally in Washington, D.C., that "no pro-life person would kill baby Hitler" because "baby Hitler was a baby," with the comments quickly going viral on social media.
“The argument, I guess here, is that would you kill baby Hitler?” Shapiro said in answering a question that appeared to be submitted online during a live broadcast at the anti-abortion rally.
“And the truth is that no pro-life person on earth would kill baby Hitler, because baby Hitler wasn’t Hitler, adult Hitler was Hitler. Baby Hitler was a baby," he continued.

Show of hands, is anyone actually surprised that the right has reached this point?
Also, before I leave, I'd like to share this more thoughtful take which manages to take on this difficult question without saying a word.

Wellll......
It depends. He could be right.
Your hypothhetical doesn' t include one vital bit of information.
Assuming you time traveled - can you stay iin this time period for any length of time? If so - you could put yourself in Adolph' s life and make him a better person.
Obviously your scenario rules make it possiblle - as outcomes can' t be fixed - if you are able to kill him.
So really - the question isn' t about Hitler - but about you.
Would you take time to make one person and thus the world a better place?
Change the scenario - where.you only have one hour to stay in the past - and whacking the kid becomes valid.

An idea that makes sense... at least until you consider the blatant anti-semitism that pervaded the German/Austro-Hungarian empires around those pivotal years, the fact that the German propaganda machine did its job so well that when they lost WW1 the people were so at a loss to explain it that they blamed the Jews, the fact that the successor Weimar regime was ultimately so poorly run that the Nazis seemed like a better option, or, Hell, even the possibility that he probably would never get good enough to get into the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts.
There’s a shitton of external factors, but even trying your damnedest to raise your kids right can end up a crapshoot.

Should just go back and tell m to focus on his art.
If i were sent back in time, and was stuck there with baby hitler in my hands, i don't think i could do it. Could you kill a baby?
You could try to better him, like biker said. But kill? A baby? For something it hasn't done yet? Nor has any concept of?
Pro choice doesn't need such hypothetical situations to defend it either. So don't worry about that.
But if you tell me now you could drown baby hitler, i'm not sure i'd ever want to meet you in real life.

The simplest thing would be to simply grab baby Adolph and take him somewhere else. Igigik Alaska, Berkeley California, Key West Florida. Guarantee he wouldn' t have been the same growing up in any of those places.

Cocaine, speed, opiates, and who knows what else can bend the brain and assist in making a maniac.
If you kill babies for something they might do later in life...there wouldn't be any babies left.
As usual, the extremists are reaching for something, anything, to support their feels on a subject.

Baby Hitler's capacity to do good was just as great as his capacity to do evil. He went over to the darkside, but he could have been a great Jedi.

Not another topic about Hitler! There have been many genocides but I guess Hitler's is the most popularized.
I mean take 19th century where some 10 to 20 million innocent people were killed by Christian overlords in Congo Free State. British consul Roger Casement was sent to Africa to investigate its progress in 1904. and discovered enslavement of natives, cold-blooded killings, mutilations, hangings, and atrocious collateral death by poor conditions and lack of health care, leading to the arrest of European officials who had perpetrated the despicable acts.
The atrocities were rationalized by “Manifest Destiny“ dogmas and politics —Divine Providence which justifies annexation of lands held by "inferior" races or "heathens," and the Christian Bible approval of slavery.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Ben "Move Baby Hitler into a better home instead" Shapiro would probably hear someone else say that and call them a welfare queen socialist
