And what about laws that existed before Christianity? Or non-Christian societies like China?
Anyway when you watch a video like this one you just have to wonder "How can people be this stupid to pay £20 to some guy to stare at them expecting supernatural things to occur?" and it's hard not to think of all the religious nonsense people are fed to believe when they're kids
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

We've already had this conversation. Western law has it's origins in med and germanic paganism. The removal of those traditions didn't make law go poof, or..really, impact the validity of law in any way. What's amusing about this is that law stands or falls on it's own. We realized some time ago that attaching mythology to law was poor practice. That's what the business of secularism was all about.
