I explained to you why that "complicity" happened.

WE GAVE UP as voters. That in turn forced our politicians to play by the GOP narrative and compete with them.

To say Trump is good for us is FUCKING BULLSHIT PERIOD!

He is not Lincoln's GOP or even Teddy's GOP. And there is no way Reagan could get nominated on today's GOP ticket regardless.

The GOP is the party of billionaires. The party of greed. They have no interest in helping anyone but oil companies and Walmart class.

What you have been seeing recently since the "occupy movement" is an awakening by the left and labor that has slowly since started to force our politicians to grow a backbone.

Oh shut the fuck up. Who the hell said that Trump was good. You're having a ridiculous heated argument with a figment of your imagination again. You don't know your own party. You idiotically think that any attack on the New Democrats is a defense of the Republicans and Wonald Weagan. You need to learn the factions within the party that you think that you belong to. Read the rest of the article, because I know that you only scanned part of it near the beginning.

The New Democrats are also a faction that represents billionaires. Those billionaires pay the New Democrats so well that Hillary thought that she basically owned the party.

Holy fucking crap do you not understand.

Billionaires pay off both parties?

NO WAY!  "I'm Wolf Blitzer In The Situation Room, our top story tonight, NO SHIT!"

Now go back and re read my prior posts until you get it.

Our politicians are HOSTAGES, not perps.

I don't give a fuck what party someone votes for, but our politicians are ONLY AS GOOD AS THE SUPPORT THEY GET. So the only thing dems can be accused of as not giving our politicians enough support.

Democrats as VOTERS GAVE UP under Reagan, that in turn forced our politicians to compete by the GOP narrative.

Politicians are as much hostages to contributors - as pimps are slaves to their women.....

They'd like you to believe it.

Total b.s. of course.

Actually, many members of the Democratic base gave up before Reagan. You keep having this problem where you think that the Democrats are the good guys, so you have to blame the Republicans for the failings of the Democratic Party. If you knew what the hell you were talking about, you would know that an awful lot of the Democratic base became disenfranchised after McGovern's defeat in 1972. McGovern was arguably to the left of Bernie Sanders. When McGovern lost, the party blamed McGovern's socialist politics. The 'neo liberals' took over the party, and became The New Democrats. That left a huge number of people disenfranchised with the party, but with nowhere else to go.

Despite what you think, the left isn't 'waking up'. We've been here all along. The New Democrats are finally losing their strength, and we intend to burn their freaking houses down (figuratively speaking, of course).

Here is an article that contrasts the Republican's response to Goldwater's defeat, with the Democratic response to McGovern's defeat. The Republicans got it right, and they swept in an age of Goldwater. The Democrats turned against their own fundamental principles and pretty much helped the Republicans create the Goldwater Age. It is an excellent article that was written in 2016 during the time that Sanders was challenging Clinton.

Nonsense indeed:

Quote:Less than 24 hours after President Donald Trump vowed to end HIV transmission in the United States within a decade, the Department of Justice announced that a U.S. attorney has filed a civil lawsuit to halt the creation of supervised injection sites, which exist to prevent opioid overdoses and the sharing of contaminated needles by intravenous drug users.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I watched the speech toggling between Jimmy Dore and an alt-right site.

T’was amusing.

Mainly I forced myself to endure it so that I’d have references for Bernie’s rebuttal.

As a reminder, yet again, here is the actual platform of the Democratic party from 2016:

https://democrats.org/about/party-platform/

Where exactly do you think this shows that "new Democrats" in the service of billionaires own the Democratic party?

As far as I am concerned, these are the positions on the issues which Democrats hope to vote for. Whether we succeed or not has as much to do with Republican opposition as it does with our intentions.

And, you probably don’t need an actual human to do even that anymore!  Trump’s SOTU was probably written by a software algorithm, lol.
