I recently put my signature of approval on the latest shop drawings of my home elevator and sent them to the company office. My unit is now in the queue at the factory and should be finished and ready for shipping in a couple of weeks.

With a little luck, installation will take place shortly after Labor Day.
Pneumatic?
That surprises me.
Straight gearing or cables would be much more economical. What's the advantage?
My home's central stairwell is too narrow for a conventional elevator. This pneumatic model is a bit more expensive than a conventional unit, but it's the right diameter for the stairwell, does not require a machine room, or a pit to be dug in the cellar floor.

Makes sense. Plastic tube?
The tube is made from a high impact Plexiglas.

My carpenter has been working here for the past couple of days. He's presently flooring over the top of the central stairway and installing the framework for the vestibule in the attic. He's also installing temporary beams which will be used to hoist the sections of the elevator shaft into place. The project is moving forward on schedule.

Just about all of the preliminary carpentry work has been completed. I still have no word of an installation date. My carpenter is here today and he's removing a section of the cellar floor to pour a level concrete pad for the elevator tube.
