I can summarise the main arguments I’ve been given before. I wonder if anyone has something new since I’ve been away.
1) You’ll be rewarded for doing so and/or punished if you don’t.
Don’t care. It can do what it likes to me anyway, it has no reason to stick to its word. I’d rather worry about helping the humans/animals around me than the amusement of some bored super-creature, and I won’t compromise that while I have a choice in the matter.
2) Don’t you want to learn about it or have a relationship with it?
Sure, I’ll happily do both, if it presents itself on sensible terms. I’m just not interested in subjugating myself. Nor am I interested in other people speaking on its behalf.
3) Stuff about morality
Well, if "morality" is measured by the whims of some external being, it’s not a metric I’m interested in.
