Dating / Married To Theist

RE: Dating / Married To Theist
Yeah cafeteria catholic woman's husband here. We go along ok, save the normal couple discussions. About my daughter, she thinks like I do. If she comes to an age that she wants to choose a religion, we do what parents usially do. We try to educate her in social situations, not religiously.

I also push for her brains. She is smart. At 2 and a half y.o. she already shows bright.

The last theist that I dated said "Oh Jesus" quite a lot.

My partner is what I'd call 'vaguely theistic'. She used to be a Bahá'í. I'm more concerned with her faith in supplements.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

I think any couple should marry if they want to. But I know my marriage failed not on issues of religion, but because we didn't discuss the future and had different ideas of where we should go and wanted to be.

Instead of "God IS or God ISN'T" express it as "Mommy believes ___" and "Daddy believes ___."

In my opinion, the kids are likely to side with the world view that doesn't required three hours a Sunday sitting in Bible class.

HA! Ain't that the truth? lol

I've been staunchly against the idea of kids for the longest time, but I'm warming up to it! I tell you what though, it'll be a grand total of one lol

Yeah, that's what you think now...but then the one will look so lonely, aaaand the first one might be a wash.  Roll the dice, get an asshole, then you have to make a new one.

Wink

Tell you how we do the god thing here, in this house.  We don't do it at all.  We don't do mommy this and daddy that, when asked, we just say "some people believe that, yes".  If they ask us what we believe, we just ask them what they believe.

They've come up with some pretty live shit over the years, the wife and I get lots of chuckles out of it.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Aww our Drich is entering puberty and therefore he finds a lot of things alluding to "gay" - the funniest word of all.
