Your point of living?
April 6, 2019 at 2:53 pm
Dear Atheists,
What's your point of living? You're all eventually going to die. When you die, there will be no afterlife. It's almost as if you never existed in the first place because you'll forget you'll ever existed, thus you'll forget about anything that made you happy in life and any good moments in life. You can "make the best of it" while you're "here on Earth" for these "rare 80 [only if you're lucky] years", but in the end it won't matter. Most people won't leave behind a legacy, and even if you left one behind, it won't last long. Even famous luminaries like Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley will be forgotten sooner than later. Your contributions to humanity won't matter either because humanity will end, and life on Earth will be wiped out by a meteor in a few centuries from now or even sooner. If that doesn't happen, humans will go extinct anyway by robots.

I’m just going to be honest here, the username makes you seem like a troll.
Anyway, what do you mean what’s the point? None of us decided to be born. We’re living because our parents gave birth to us. Now that we’re already here we might as well enjoy it while it lasts

If nobody told you that the purpose of your life is to praise the lord for eternity after you die, what would you do?

Ditto for you.

My point of living is to annoy the hell out of everyone with ABBA. Outside that breathing is important. It sucks if you cant breath.
Look even the si fi stuff about A.I. is a bit of a stretch. I do not see humans being replaced by robots. But even as such, even if they could, the universe is not only huge, but will also run out of energy, so even if humans get replaced by robots, even those robots would have a shelf life.
It is far more likely our extinction will be local, just like the other 5 mass extinctions on this planet.
But I do agree. Humans still remember the Ancient Egyptians, but how many laypeople, outside archeologists can name every single Pharaoh in their 3,000 year existence. I cant even name all 45 of America's presidents.
So what is my point of living? If you are looking for an excuse to commit suicide, you will not find it with me. I have been suicidal in my past, but also know that if I had, not only would I not be here today, I would have missed out on all the things I did do as a result of not committing suicide.
Saying life does not matter in 13.8 billion years of cosmic time, does not mean you cannot value the time you do have.
It is nonsense to claim accepting the ride ends means the ride itself is worth less.
It is only up to you how you view life and what you do with it. It is not the end of the world, nor is it fatalistic to accept you wont be around 5 billion years from now, just like you were not around 4 billion years ago.
I still feel joy, and love even knowing I am not important to the universe. I simply value now.

OP: My point (or at least one of them) is making fun of people like you. I know you've been brain washed, but come on,........... afterlife my ass.

Like most pyramids, mountains and cocks there is more to life than just the tip.
You want to know the point of my life.
Well, as I said, there is more to it than that.
First off, there is enjoyment. From the moment I wake, I enjoy many things about being alive. I smile because I'm still very comfortable under my covers.
The person laying next to me hugs me and says good morning. The shower is wet and wonderful. It's the weekend so I could sleep in but there are too many things I want to do.
Many of my ancestors may have woken up in a similar fashion. What legacy did they help to create ?
They advanced our collective knowledge about the world we live in. Some made monumental discoveries that changed all our lives. Others raised good children who in turn raised children who built our world up from the caves and huts we once lived in.
I've built houses and learned that trade from those who learned it from others before us.
I've written a book that may or may not stand the test of time, but who knows, it might.
I've raised a son and now have 3 grandchildren. Many of their traits, for good or bad will come from me.
You want to know the point of living.
It's to live.
That's it.

These points are true for everyone. Why are you directing them at atheists? After all, we are not the people with a problem with life as it is.
Relative purposes make life worth living, not imaginary absolute purposes.
And I for one welcome our new robot overlords.
