Praying is not about changing Gods mind, but about the changing of ours, as evident in the Lord’s Prayer.

That's not the case.

In The Lord's Prayer the petitioner is asking God to not lead them into temptation but to deliver them from evil.  Isn't that asking God to change his mind if his mind was made up to go the temptation route?

Temptation, is literally the desire to do wrong, the desire to sin. This portion of the prayer, is one asking God to lead us not to desire wrong things, to desire to do what’s sinful. Its asking god to change your heart not his.

Acrobat, what is the meaning of, "You do not have because you do not ask"?

Or, what is the purpose/meaning of this text?

"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit." -James

or this text?

"praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints..." -Paul

or this one?

"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." -Paul

or this one?

"When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles." -David

or this one?

In the morning, as he was returning to the city, he became hungry. And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once. When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree wither at once?” And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith." (Jesus)

Does "You do not have because you do not ask" mean "You would have had anyway, even if you didn’t pray, since God had a plan and your prayers don’t matter.” Or, does prayer cause things to happen that wouldn't happen if we didn't pray? Or do you have another take?

You're obviously skipping the "uncritical, blind, unthinking acceptance of this bullshit" part.
