She was a centrist (at least on paper), but, she looked like a liberal (which she probably was and is, anyway).  And, a lot of people hated her and/or where envious of her.

She was liberal compared to Trump who's grossly illiberal but there were some issues on which I found her relatively conservative. Anyway she would have led the country much better than Trump.

What really would have been nice is if someone like a prior president had actually done their job and abolished the electoral college. Before Trump benefitted from it. Nip it in the bud. (btw dont get me started on how bad most of the presidents after FDR were)

If think the country needs a centrist option in the next election. I don't want Trump, but I don't want far left/social either.

Didn't seem to fucking help having a centrist run last time.

If you're referring to Hill, she had to much baggage from the past, and present (at that time).

All I see from moderates are excuses. They can create their own party if they want. Nobody's stopping them. Surely with all their FANTASTIC ideas, they'll win a lot of elections. I'm sure Howard Schultz would gladly lead them.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

In my opinion, the Democrats need a white Southerner, someone who does not have Bill's baggage and/or lusts.

We moderate Democrats often have the same goals as more liberal Democrats, but believe they are best approached incrementally.  There are several reasons for this: to make sure our ideas work, to avoid asking too much from people all at once, and to make steady progress.

As far as creating our own party, I thought it was ours to begin with.   Cool

In any case, the Democratic party is a big tent, and we need everyone except the extremist wackidoodles.

If Trump really wanted to 'cater' to the far right, wouldn't he just buy them a lot of hamberders?

Trump will give speech on LGBTQ hate rally

Quote:Donald Trump is to address the annual conference of an anti-LGBT group which has been classified as a hate group.

The US president will become the first sitting president to address social conservative activists and elected officials at the Value Voters Summit in Washington DC on Friday.

The Family Research Council opposes and actively lobbies against equal rights for LGBT persons. The conservative Christian group campaigns against same-sex marriage, same-sex civil unions, LGBT adoption, abortion, embryonic stell-cell research, pornography and divorce.

“By appearing at the Values Voter Summit, President Trump is lending the legitimacy of his office to a hate group that relentlessly demonizes LGBT people and works to deny them of their equal rights," said Richard Cohen, the president of the Southern Poverty Law Centre
