In later years she played mother Theresa in a biopic which begins with her anti abortion speech at the Nobel prize acceptance (although the actress was known to have at least one abortion after being raped).

Plus, one of her better movies actually has an abortion be a major plot point.








And, yes, the movie is pro-choice.

Jimmy Carter at 100 years old. Not a good President but a very good man. He will be missed.

It's very rare that people make history. More often, history makes people. The 44 years he spent after his presidency working for peace and poor folk probably matters more.

Jimmy Carter was simply a good man. How he wound up in politics is beyond me. He was also a better President than people give him credit for. He got dealt a shit hand. A hostage crises and an economy that tanked mostly due to from Nixon's/Ford's policies. I think we'd live in a much better world had Reagan lost in 1980.

Reagan pulled a Nixon and negotiated with the Iranians while still campaigning before the election.

It's too bad that his most enduring legacy was from tooling up the anti-Soviet mujaheedin in Afghanistan, which basically created al-Qaeda and led to decades of civil war there.
