54..
Natural causes.
You asked...
Key words "more interesting" -- though "natural causes" at 54 might be cause for interest.

How about Jane Lapotaire? Died on 5 March, this year at age 81.
Born in Ipswich to a French woman who abandoned her at birth, she was raised by the same foster mother who had raised her birth mother. She won a competitive place at the local grammar school. When she was age 12, her birth mother made a bid to reclaim her. Lapotaire elected to remain with her foster mother, although she spent holidays with her birth mother and her husband (a Canadian oil worker) in North Africa.
She studied acting at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and joined their company. Over the next few years, she performed with the National Theatre Company and the Royal Shakespeare company. She rose to prominence in the title role of Marie Curie in 1977, and won a Tony Award for her portrayal of Edith Piaf on Broadway.
In 2000, while preparing to teach a course on Shakespeare at the Ecole Internationale in Paris, she suffered a massive cerebral haemmorhage, spent three weeks in a coma, and made a full recovery.
Let’s see Chuck Norris do THAT.

Mark Bittner - he was a bum with a Wikipedia page, and all because of his care and friendship with a flock of wild parrots in San Francisco.
He was a bit of a world famous, especially since they made a documentary about him in 2003 called "The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill" that can be seen on Dailymotion

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Link wants an email address and password so I couldn't watch. I looked him up. Seemed like a cool guy.
I think the 'bum' comment is completely uncalled for. I wonder how strangers will describe you when you die.
