I recently read where Billy Mumy (Will Robinson of Lost in Space) totally escaped the curse of child actors. He was untouched by the ravages of show biz despite spending his entire life in it. He is a very rare case though.

It almost took Drew Barrymore from us. I'm glad she turned things around for herself.

Yeah, it’s a rare show biz kid than can manage to do that.

I recall her visiting Belfast not long after the Omagh bombing. She gave an address encouraging any children affected by the attack to call Childline. I wasn’t at the speech (caught it on telly), but she seemed very genuinely concerned.

Marjoe Gortner, whose childhood as an evangelical preacher was the subject of the Oscar-winning documentary “Marjoe” and who went on to have a career as an actor, died Friday. He was 82.

I showed that documentary at one of my FSM meetings. Eye-opener. Not for nothing, he was also the star of the 1976 movie 'Food of the Gods', which I saw as a teenager.

Yeah, I was also a fan of that documentary. So sad to see him go although I guess i'm surprised he didn't speak more about his job after the documentary.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It's kind of a shame there's not a hell for these vermin to burn in.
