Do you accept the following, from The Acts of Peter:

Quote:IX. As Peter spake thus with great sorrow of mind, many were added unto them that believed on the Lord. But the brethren besought Peter to join battle with Simon and not suffer him any longer to vex the people. And without delay Peter went quickly out of the synagogue (assembly) and went unto the house of Marcellus, where Simon lodged: and much people followed him. And when he came to the door, he called the porter and said to him: Go, say unto Simon: Peter because of whom thou fleddest out of Judaea waiteth for thee at the door. The porter answered and said to Peter: Sir, whether thou be Peter, I know not: but I have a command; for he had knowledge that yesterday thou didst enter into the city, and said unto me: Whether it be by day or by night, at whatsoever hour he cometh, say that I am not within. And Peter said to the young man: Thou hast well said in reporting that which he compelled thee to say. And Peter turned unto the people that followed him and said: Ye shall now see a great and marvellous wonder. And Peter seeing a great dog bound with a strong chain, went to him and loosed him, and when he was loosed the dog received a man's voice and said unto Peter: What dost thou bid me to do, thou servant of the unspeakable and living God? Peter said unto him: Go in and say unto Simon in the midst of his company: Peter saith unto thee, Come forth abroad, for thy sake am I come to Rome, thou wicked one and deceiver of simple souls. And immediately the dog ran and entered in, and rushed into the midst of them that were with Simon, and lifted up his forefeet and in a loud voice said: Thou Simon, Peter the servant of Christ who standeth at the door saith unto thee: Come forth abroad, for thy sake am I come to Rome, thou most wicked one and deceiver of simple souls. And when Simon heard it, and beheld the incredible sight, he lost the words wherewith he was deceiving them that stood by, and all of them were amazed.

The Acts of Peter

If not, why not?

Or the gospel of Judas and Mary Magdolene.

All expunged by the catholic church.

Yes but 3,000 years worth of research we have manuscripts more than any literature in history well over 10,000 and they all say the same thing for the most part, with some obvious little differences, if it was really made up wouldn't they of been changing it each time instead of just copying from one to another verbatim? if the christians were reajlly liars as u claim then why wouldn't they add stuff to make it even more believable instead of just leaving t he OT and NT the same all these years?

Why wouldn't each reader just start changing stuff if it was just made up by everybody? Or were there certain writers? Why wasn't it changed?

Most of those manuscripts are in Latin.

Yeah but there the same, I gotta say why didn't people change them? If you read our NT with a NT in Jesus time, well it's the same, doesn't sound like ppl lying. And the OT dates back 3,000 years ago and it's the same. Yes I know there textual variants, but I'm saying it's the most accurate piece of written down material that didn't change, well wouldn't you change it to fit Christ into the worldview to help your religion?

The gospels we have today are the result of the council of Nicea that decided what the truth was going to be. It happened at 300 AD and expunged a lot of gospels that ran counter to the narrative that came to be the new testament.
So that they are similar is because the similar ones were picked because they were similar.

Verbatim is an interesting choice because the different versions of the bible are not word for word or "verbatim" copies. But kinda say similar things.
Look it up.

And again there is a long history of the clergy and wider church doing just that. They even added fake references to historical works to make jesus seem more plausible.
You have mentioned Josephus whose mentioning of jesus is rearded as rather a crude forgery.

@emilsein

Religious texts aren't going to change, because what is contained in them, no matter how primitive and stupid, is the one constant that keeps followers. If you change the text, it sends a message that what is contained within is fallible, which it is anyway.

The irony is that religion finds ways to evolve without changing the text, by reinterpreting the text to fit the needs of ever changing society.

Unfortunately, people are still too stupid to recognize religion for what it is: a complete and utter farce.

There was no New Testament in Jesus' time.  Go back under your bridge, the goats are coming.
