I honestly feel for the dude, it's tough to deal with that cognitive dissonance in a way that doesn't trash your whole life when you've been living a lie so long. I mean you could have celebrated his release from a perceived truth, or sympathetically felt for his loss, but no... lets just ignore the OP plea for real human loving relationships and jump on the bandwagon of "fuck the Christians". I'm glad the dude felt loved and accepted somewhere, and am really surprised at his humility and apologetic tone. I hope his life gets better.

Because he admitted to faking it to make it all his life. It's not a troll response, it reading comprehension.

So the standard to not be considered a fake Christian is to not have the slightest doubt. Good to know. Sounds like you should go ahead and start the purge now, kick out all Christian who have any reservations about their faith. Why wait until they're out of the church to call them on it? Cast out those doubters now before the infection spreads! At least shut up those fakers who claim that it's not really faith without doubt, just garden-variety belief.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

No, he deluded himself, then reason pulled him out of that delusion. No different than when you believed in Santa as a kid, then finally realize Santa was made up and nothing more than your parents selling you a story.

So it's just reading that it was never true for him. Just because calling a spade, a spade, is common, it doesn't detract from the correctness of the spade being a spade.

Nice word salad. "crisis of faith".....

How  much of a "crisis of faith" do you have about Thor or Apollo or Vishnu or Allah?

I once believed myself. Ditching a bad claim isn't a "crisis", it is simply realizing you got it wrong.

If our species never questioned social norms our species never would have left the caves.

It certainly can be emotionally difficult to question something you are used to believing. But that isn't  crisis, that is simply being uncomfortable when being challenged by others, or being self introspective.

"Crisis of faith" is code for, "Don't question if it leads you away. Question to fish for an answer you like."

Reason and logic don't lead you where you want to go, reason and logic leads you to facts, beyond your own personal bias.

foolish man built his house on the sand..

So then why would God reenforce what he built with any sort of verification?

This guy's whole life is about him and his efforts. look at his list of accomplishments and all the pedigrees and check list 'smart guy' stuff he has done. Doesn't God hide himself from people like that? So why look for God in the one place he is not to be found?

He never mentions spending a moment seeking God on his terms. nor does he give any details that would tell us that he sought god on his own terms. his lists are complete with academic crap that mean nothing. Things that matter to man. accomplishments that men use to gauge this man's effort. but again none of it consistent with what Jesus Himself asks us to do. So again why would God honor this man with anything besides a life of blind faith and extra reward in heaven that he promised those who can live by faith alone? Why would God grant this man power and miracles if it would only reenforce his corrupt understanding of what God wants from us? would it not then give him fuel to teach and preach this evangelical version of God?

This man built his house/faith on a weak understanding of who God is, and God as promised sent the winds and rain of life (all of the unanswered prayers all the sick people he attended too all of the dashed hopes of witnessing something supernatural... these trials where sent to destroy his understanding of how God works. they where meant to break his faith so he had the opportunity to start over. and this time built his belief on the truth in Christ.

Once we learn to build our faith on who Christ really is then all the things the bible promises do come true before you very eyes. I witnessed so many things I can not explain it almost has become expected. I have stopped petitioning God (what the pastor says is praying but does not understand the difference) because God answers me with what I want too often. meaning yes I do get what I want but I also am left with all of the unintended or unforeseen consequences.. almost like a monkey's paw effect. So I have learned to be content and allow God discretion to add or to take away and learn to be happy with what ever my lot.

And again here's the thing. I'm no body special. I am simply doing it God's way and not the christian way/the religious way. why? God is seldom found in religion. religion is all about man's effort as witnessed by the despondent preacher. If you simply learn to live your life God way he will indeed open the flood gates of heaven upon you.

No, you merely like the idea of having an invisible super hero protect you. You have no evidence one exists at all. You don't even have any evidence one is a requirement for that matter. Don't feel bad, nobody in human history has ever proven any god of any label existing.

My whole life is a testament to the evidence of God as nothing I have accomplished could I have done alone.

Direct evidence 1) witnessed my own judgement, experienced hell first hand.
2) Sat face to face with a literal messenger/angel and had a conversation discussing my past present and future service.
30lived and witnessed everything the angel predicted come true.

3) God has also provided me the information needed to allow any of you to also find him in such a way to provide you everything you need to establish and maintain your own relationship so you too can have all the 'evidence you personally need' to believe via proof rather than faith alone.

Meaning I ca not prove God exists but I know God can and promises to do so if you simply seek him out on his terms and not your own unlike the preacher in the OP.

Also as per the last thread on God's protection, he offers none. as it is said if God did not keep Jesus his own son from harm why would he then keep us protected from the evil of this world?

No it isn't. It merely means you have had a lifetime of liking what you believe. So what. Plenty of Muslims and Jews and Buddhists and Hindus keep their religions their entire life too.

Never a true christian, got it.

And they are right.  The mark of a Real Christian mind is total absence of any fuel for spark of reason to kindle.

If it can be set alight by any amount reason, however reluctantly, it is not truly Christian.
