New gulf war?

New gulf war?
==================New gulf war Diary=====================

I wrote this topic after a very strange and furious escalation in the Middle East.
A previous post presceded this one and you can read about it here:

https://atheistforums.org/thread-58939.html

Donald Trump's role is obvious as sunlight now: the man wants a war. It will help him save his neck from his enemies' investigations in the U.S.

Other madmen who lead countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE will eat with Trump; sharing the loot with him.

Right now, there is one scary escalation in the persian gulf:

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/05/16/polit...index.html

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/05/16/polit...index.html

Also, the Houthies in Yemen took their operations to a whole new level and began to hammer Saudi oil pipelines with drones:

http://time.com/5588819/saudi-arabia-oil...ack-yemen/

We know one thing about the U.S: it did lie once to the whole world in 2003, claiming that Saddam had WMDs. They also supported Iran's terrorists in Iraq; just like they are supporting Saudi Arabia's terrorists like MBS.

===

No; if this started for real it will be a world war.

It's all fault of the Islam: Iran is Shia and Saudi Arabia is Sunni and they want to kill each-other, and in this case Saudi Arabia's Muslim leader want to destroy those heathen Shias in Iran and are trying to convince Trump administration to attack them. I mean really, Atlass, why can't you just abandon your violent religion? Can't you see it's doing you more harm than good? If you all abandoned it then you wouldn't see differences between each-other.

Can you offer an explanation as to why none of the other Middle Eastern wars became a world war (other than your paranoid ethnocentricity, I mean)?

The Iraq war was deeply unpopular last time round and it basically destroyed Blair's career. Trump is far more unpopular than Bush in the UK and the population are far more politically engaged this time round. And more sceptical too. The UK government is also far weaker now than last time. I don't see the UK joining in with this war, no matter how desperate the Tories are for a trade deal with the US. The Brits are by and large cynical bastards so there won't be any fooling them a second time. Although I fully expect the Westminster government to try and join in. Although saynig that, the UK doesn't always help fight America's wars. We stayed out of Vietnam for example.

I agree those two theocracies are very tribal and violent. But again, that does not excuse all the crappy shit Christians have done in their history. Look at what is going on currently in America. We have right wing terrorist KKK and Neo Nazis whom support the orange bully, and a party whom is waging a war on women's rights. If there were no Constitution holding us together by a thread right now, it wouldn't take long for our right wing to look like that too.

Religion isn't going to be wiped off a planet of  7 billion. We can and should stand up to all forms of conservative fear and bullying. But it is a bad idea to solely focus on one geographical part of the world in one point in history. All humans are capable of the same behaviors long term.

The west became more civil in spite of religion, not because of it, and the west can backslide into the same violent tribalism we currently see in the east.  It is still up to humans of empathy, of all labels to stand up to fear and cruelty regardless of geography.

By now, I think every single human -even the dead- know that it's the fault of Trump along with a shadowy wing of greedy Oligarchs and businessmen leading the world through a serious of disastrous decisions that lack any empathy or consideration for the life of innocent people.

When the nukes start falling, you'll wake up to the truth you lied to yourself about.

Because this one is mainly between Iran and Saudi Arabia. The world will get hammered very badly if it lost the oil exported from these two countries even if for a single week; that without counting the allies who will enter this war like the U.S.  Counting the oil wells which are going to burn gives me a headache alone.

It will escalate to a global war for energy if nobody intervened and stopped the mad psychopaths ruling.

I trust that Europe's left is wiser than following the bullshit of rightist pricks like the kind of Trump.
But Western Europe will enter the war for oil.

The Chinese will enter the war for oil also

The problem is that energy is very precious. British people might not care about the U.S anymore, but they care for their bread, all humans do. A shortage of oil means the end of the modern luxury we lived in after WW2.

Iran and Saudi Arabia together produce about 25% of the worlds oil. In 1973 oil was embargoed and in 1979 oil exports from Iran and Iraq virtually dried up. Both of these last much longer than 'a single week'. If these shortages (both real and perceived) didn't result in a global war, why would interruption of Saudi and Iranian oil do so?

25% of the world's reserve of oil is a huge portion, big enough to shake the economy of the globe.
A single organ might be a 5 or 10% of your body (probably less); but amputating it will hurt like hell and it will change your life permanently, might even kill you.

The least expected aftermath of such war is the change of the world's map. That means millions dead, and trillions of $ evaporating

-and yet, that's not what happened even when they produced a greater portion of the oil required.  A natural disaster in canada would cause a more significant disruption to us oil than both Iran and KSA being wiped off the map, at this point.

We're not there for your oil anymore, lol....we get it from the americas.   We're there for the spiffy airbase locations and money laundering. Pewpewpew.
