Can't help it.  Brian and I have our differences, but I do kinda sorta like the guy (not liking him would be like kicking a puppy).

While we are talking odds...

The odds in your lifetime of being killed by ----

Gun 1 in 315 (suicide accounting over 1/2)

By police 1 in 7703

Mass shooting 1 in 11125

https://amp.businessinsider.com/us-gun-d...ics-2018-3

So yeah - you are far less likely to die from a cop - and almost twice that unlikely to die in a mass shooting.

You are 3 times more likely to die in a vehicular accident - but nobody cares about that.....

What are the odds of being dismembered by an axe-wielding maniac in your own home?

Of course you would like to reduce the odds to ridiculous proportions by fiixatinf on an axe.

That' s like fixating on firearm deaths only counting those committed by flintlock.

Yeah, that.  You intimated that one reason to have a firearm in your home is to protect yourself from an axe wielder intent on dismembering you.  My point is that this shouldn't be very high on the list of reasons to own a firearm, due to the very low chance of it happening.

Considering the number of edged implements in my foyer I'd not give a Fafhrd much of a chance.

Your continued reductio ad absurdum is more annoying than amusing. If wit is your goal you don't  get points.
