I thought 'Jesus wept' was the shortest. John 11:35.

Two of my favorite stanzas from chapter 4 of the Bhagavad Gita:
[33 & 37]
Better than any ritual
is the worship achieved through wisdom;
wisdom is the final goal
of every action, Arjuna.
...
Just as firewood is turned
to ashes in the flames of a fire,
all actions are turned to ashes
in wisdom's refining flames.

Boru Must likely I'm wrong. Just ask anyone here! Ok, second shortest.

I remember you being very, very, very wrong at least once or twice.
But I'm glad you're back. Did you get banned from the Christian forum again?

Song of Solomon 7:1a:
“How beautiful are thy feet in sandals, O prince’s daughter!”
We didn’t do much about that particular book of the Bible in school for obvious reasons. But I grew particularly fond of this line after I saw Burt Lancaster flirting with a neighbour using that line in The Swimmer.

I was friends with a guy on a Mafia forum who had similar problems. He was basically a Baptist (he went to a Baptist church for years and still regularly attends it) but he had issues with Trinitarian theology. Long story short, he posted on a Christian forum about his concerns and they locked the thread because he "denied the divinity of Jesus" or some shit. It was pathetic. It was an obvious attempt at coercion to create conformity in thinking within their social group. Fuck that shit.
You should consider accepting their offer to be let back on as a "nonchristian" (or whatever). Just be you. Speak your mind and your beliefs honestly.
After all, it isn't up to any social conglomerate to decide if you are a Christian or not, right? You Christiany types always say that God will deliver the final judgment. So who are these schmucks to say what's what?
Tell them that (since you don't qualify as a "Christian" in their eyes) you are "a nonchristian servant of Christ" or something. (That oughta ruffle their feathers.) Own your beliefs. Don't let social forces coerce you into thinking a certain way.

Don't let social forces coerce you into thinking a certain way. I wished you lived next door so we could talk. You have always been kind to me. Even though I'm batshit crazy! I live in this world enjoying it thoroughly, gloriously and can't understand how theology and science got so fucked up! Ultimately, I believe that nature will prove God--not science and most certainly not theology.
They want to talk to me(and you) about trinity, salvation, Spirit, heaven, hell, sin. All Latin based words and ideas. NONE OF WHICH EVEN EXISTS in the Original languages!!! The bible, as the Word of God, is not crazy! There is no magic Spiritual SKYGOD! In a nutshell, the bible is our instructions of how to live a glorious life, by following God's given instructions, and leadership, without fucking it up royal on our own! Without shame, fear or guilt! Yet, what does theology teach? Shame, fear and guilt! DUDE!
To live as God instructed us is eirEnE(peace--with the PEASE MAKER, Advocate) which means the absents of strife and not 'peace of mind' whatever that means?
So, I will honor you and try again. Thanks again, Bill

Nah. I've been a dick to you before. You just don't remember. But you've always been kind to me.

But is it right to impose that on others? Is a glorious life possible without the Bible? Is a not-so-glorious life possible with it?

"But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his own face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but one who does good works—this person will be blessed in what he does." - James 1:22-25
I also like Ecclesiastes 3 which is a popular secular verse,
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post
