Nobody is saying hicks are subhuman. Some of us might have a problem with the big hordes of hicks who support Trump. But that's a Trump problem--not a hick problem. Putting aside some possible political differences, I have no problem with hicks. In fact, most of my friends are hicks, rednecks, and hillbillies. And quite a few of them hate Trump.

Twelve states produce over $10 billion on agricultural products per year, in order from most to least:
California, Iowa, Nebraska, Texas, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, Wisconsin, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, and South Dakota. Only two southern states on the list, Texas comes in fourth and North Carolina ninth. I don't buy this 85% of agricultural products are generated by the southern states. California is 13% all by itself.
