Why does God get the credit?
#41
RE: Why does God get the credit?
The flip side of god getting the credit for anything remotely construable as beneficial is that YOU get the blame for anything remotely construable as harmful.

Even if the devil gets blamed, he's not supposed to be able to harm you unless you "give him place", so it's ultimately all your fault somehow.

To extend it one level further, if god has a lock on all beneficial outcomes then you get no credit for anything you actually did to contribute to a good outcome, either, beyond maybe a deferred "well done, thou good and faithful servant" when you enter heaven someday; certainly no praise in THIS life. You get not just the blame, but no chance for any sort of upside. Because, ya know, god is a jealous god.

God has a great gig.

Do I care?

I guess. You kind of remind me of the stereotypical neckbeard atheist. Just saying.

And you remind me of someone who sits on the fence. Just sayin.

Hahaha

I should just clarify I just meant he comes off as the type of atheist that gets angry at every little thing even though it does not directly impact him. Like who gives a shit if someone wants to give credit to their God for something that happened in their life? I don't care. Unless it directly involves me, I really don't care what someone believes. Of course not all atheists are like this, in fact about 99% are not. But I suspect I will get downvoted, bombarded since I'm being critical of another atheist on an atheist forum. Dodgy I just feel there are bigger fish to fry than worry about what someone else believes. You know such as people who want to instill religion into government, and so on.

I mean...in all fairness, you’re complaining that he let’s it bother him, yet you’re letting him being bothered, bother you, lol. Ya know? He’s not actually saying any of this to the person it happened to. And, it’s a valid criticism of erroneous logic.

And, no. We don’t wipe each other’s butts because we’re atheists. You’ll learn that pretty quick here.

god is an impudent child and must be factored into every group project, or it has a violent, unmanageable temper tantrum.

I dunno. If somebody with a MasterCard show up and it says" God" on the card - then I'll give him credit.

And I don't take American Express.

Maybe some people don't take the blame for humility considerations.

It is interesting when you really think about the God to Human relationship. "Worship me or I will send you to hell" -That doesn't sound like a healthy relationship, however more of an abusive relationship.

a description of the biblegod is better than the ink blot test.

all lovey dovey or all spiteful ... que in:
black/white,
right/wrong,
narrow minded,
self justifying
a less valid claim.
