Many people are unaware of even having absorbed contemporary white supremacist propaganda...leaving them in the hilarious position of not being white supremacists™, just agreeing with them.

I could argue that this is the reason for his election. While a lot of people took the exclusion path ( I'm right, your are dumb just trust me), Trum exploited inclusion. Not by trying to change people's minds by disccusing with them, but by giving them the feeling that they matter and taking their votes.
