God, Energy and Matter
RE: God, Energy and Matter
No sillier than asserting that, if there is a god, it is and works exactly as we see the world.  It's the god of a meatgrinder, where the creatures on it's rock can expect to be eaten alive asshole first.  Earth is a lonely prison colony full of starving murderers....adrift in space, lol.  The base is the similarity between the two concepts (such as it is, lol, cats and dogs are equally similar, as I keep trying to tell him).  Sort of like noticing that vader and his stormtroopers remind us of someone, or how those beautiful TIE interceptors scream like Stukas no matter what they're doing, lol.  That's not the silly part.  Not when I do it, not when he does it, not when anyone does it.  Concepts can be similar.  Even concepts referent to one reality and one fiction, respectively.

The silly part is in imagining that this leads to or is a comment on pantheism or provides support for his christianity.  The properties of energy aren't the relevant properties which get us to pantheism or christianity.  Its not on account of how energy and matter are in some sense eternal that pantheists make their assertion.  Nor are matter and energy god, to pantheists or christians.

Count the hits, ignore the misses, misstate the referenced position's contents.  That's silly, in ways that noticing similarity between concepts or even making some comment based upon assumptions just isn't.   In ways that proposing god isn't, even. That's all I was referring to about being able to make two baskets, one silly, one not so much. It's rare to find a believer that's a complete loon from top to bottom. They try to ground their beliefs in reality, like we all do.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Asserting that there is some being you have no evidence for is always silly, no matter what veil you try to throw over it (in this case, naturalism). Could there be some super smart, cosmic, Cthulu-esque entity that we might consider a god? I mean sure... there could be. But why even assume that? Even that comes down to faith.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

Energy, matter, space, time are within the universe. The space-time theorems developed by Penrose, Hawking (is what ushered him to worldwide fame, circa 1970) proved the universe had a beginning. Science is only efficacious after the 1'st second.
Atheist Credo: An universe by chance that also just happened to admit the observer by chance.

Really?  1st second?   Second is that magical a unit?

Science is not afficacious before the 0th second not because science is not efficacious in tell all there is regardless of when.   It is because there is in principle no “before” the 0th second to tell.

So stop bullshitting so you can pretend there really can in principle be any gap into which god could be a worthwhile plug.   Now get over it.
