Martin Scorsese says Marvel movies are "not cinema"

It's cinema, just not worthwhile cinema.
"...just not cinema as we know it!"

I can smear my feces on a canvas and call the "The Color of Midnight" but that doesn't make it art. Just because people call themselves artists doesn't mean they are.

At work.
Uhm...... so now we're falling into the "No true artist" fallacy? As for cinema and movies..... I thought it was all just a business?

People watch whatever they want. I reckon that the film industry is losing ground these days. Good stories have been superceded by CG animations, the old actor trick of punching someone in the face by camera angle now doesn't need the actorship and the hundred takes for the shot. It has made movie making cheaper therefore more profitable.
But people that like action movies just want explosions, buildings falling and shit. Can one blame them?
