[Serious] Has anyone had any experience with mental illness?

RE: Has anyone had any experience with mental illness?
I think there is a massive amount of miscommunication happening in this thread.

Your demanding and condescending tone isn't really going to garner much in the way of people actually wanting to help with whatever issues you are dealing with.  You need a professional - actually a couple different kinds of professionals - to get the help you need...not some random people on a forum who haven't been endeared to you thanks to your insults and childish foot-stamping.

True,
You people are good at noticing mistakes,
You are right
I actually was trying to make people feel related to that they can feel more willing to have a conversation because in the past people actually asked me to talk about my own self when making a political thread asking about peoples beliefs on politics......no wait.....wait.......what?

Maybe that's is exactly why im incorporate insults and childish foot-stamping or something.

sigh......i don't belong here

Stop being a big fucking sook.
You're new here, it takes a while to fit in, anywhere.
While people get to know you, you're going to feel like you're in the spotlight, getting picked on.
Happens to everyone, everywhere, all the time.
In a few months someone new will start up and complain about 'you people' and guess what?, you'll be included in that group.
I like you so far. :-)

Yep, lol...it's cute, right?

In answer to the OPQ...yes, by any account, most people have experience with mental illness.   Their own, their friends, their family.  Its an issue with stigma that shouldn't have attached stigma on account of how ubiquitous it is...but that's not how stigma works.

I had a run in with a serious issue as a consequence of traumatic head injury.  Full dissociative break.  I like to joke about it being the best thing that ever happened to me.  How many people get a free vacation from their own skin?  The reality, ofc, is a bit more nasty.  I will never fully believe my own experience or person.  I can never be sure that I am who I think I am.  I have what amounts to a lifetime prescription of antidepressants and anti psychotics to keep me...ostensibly, from doing the horrible things my other self might do, and is good at doing.  Not that theres any actual "other self"..it;s just me....but....that's not how that works either.

So...you know, lighten up OP, it's not so bad.  Go talk to somebody, feel better, make yourself well. However bad it is, remember..it can get worse. You have anxieties...that sucks. It cant be anything other than painful. You should get help. I might skullfuck my neighbor and burn their house to the ground with their kids in it, in my sleep.....if somebody says the right combination of words.

Self proclaimed intellectuals chewing their words around. Just insult me directly and man up, it's far better that me not being sure worrying if im being insulted or not lol. if that's what you're doing i want to say im tired of this shitty negativity in this forum from the first day that i came here
Can you be more specific mister LastPoet ?

Do i speak some kind of too sober English dialect?

Primo: You can report your own thread telling mods you posted in the wrong section. To report is not equal to complain. Hence, the mods could move the forum...

Segundo: The negativity you get is your responsability. It is hard to take you seriously, you might work work on that.

Tertio: If you so want to be insulted (funny that you baited that on a [serious] thread), but I will take it and get the proper punishment: Your father is a hamster and your mother smelt of elderberries.

In reading all the words in his post I figured out he had a traumatic head injury...because he said it was the consequence of a traumatic brain injury.

He said he had a run in with a serious issue as as a result of a head injury. Its not totally clear if whatever caused the dissociative episode was a direct result of the head injury or if something that was a consequence of the head injury happened after his accident that caused the episode.

Just asking him to clarify. Not sure why you feel the need to speak for him. Weird.

There was a blast, and I bounced off a few things head first. I was unconscious for a little over a week. Chances are I was headed that way regardless, I had a pretty shitty job.

Shitty. Middle East?

Ask because I once had a psychotic episode after a four day PCP binge

But it was more so the days of no sleep afterward that caused me to snap

I find your lack of reading comprehension to be weird until I remember that you are mighty proud of all your drug use.
